Unit 7:
***Due Jan 25th 2016
- Ability to articulate theoretical context with confidence and vigour
- More general line of enquiry to a more focused position
- Helpful in dissertation writing
- Stage 2 essays will lead to dissertation writing at the end of the term
- Start dissertation research now for later in Stage 2
- Make notes throughout the year in terms of dissertation proposals – put on blog – Themes explored in essay 1 (Unit 7) must be reflected upon in essay 2 (Unit 8)
- Make use of London as a tool for research
- Read exhibition reviews in terms of how to reflect upon anothers work theoretically
- Essay will be in a topic of your choice (not necessarily art related) but must not review work . The ability to reflect upon your own interests that have some relation to studio practise
- Reflect upon larger issues through a specific object (cultural, physical etc.)
Dissertation 6000-8000 words

Report – Discusses the relationship between studio practice and the ‘territory’ you have been collectively defining.

Wed 9th – Private View (Triangle and Cookhouse)
Thurs 10th – Exhibition/Events/Discussions etc.
– work may be individual piece by each members of the collective or a single collective piece
-‘Research-based’ show – no distinction between research material and artwork.
-Work together to decide form of presentation for the term’s activities of each ‘territory’ collective.
