In terms of our External Exhibition my group (4) and I have been working hard to really from up our collide idea, theme and venue for the exhibition. We have decided to be very out there and go with a ‘Yellow Storage’ Facility as the site of our exhibition. We have secured ourselves as 150-175ft box which we will hours our collective exhibition, each member collectively adding their own contribution in terms of photography, sculptures and instillations.
We have set in place a set-up date as well as prefer days for the critic and private view and really are just working towards individual outcome under the theme of ‘Enclosure’
…commentary from Collective Facebook Group
How about “enclosure”? I think the word ‘enclosure’ captures important feature/theme related to everyone’s work! and at the same time, ‘enclosure’ includes the intuitive characteristic of the venue as well.

The exhibition is going to be held in a storage located in Vauxhall, which is only a 15 minutes walk from Chelsea college. The show will be consisted of photography, sculpture and installation. Each participant have different topic of her own but atmosphere that the works create collaborates together visually and conceptually. The storage has intriguing features in terms of its original function as storage and systematic/ordered sequences of units/doors ect… visual and conceptual aspects of the space emphasize effect of our theme and the actual artworks.
Interiors:
In terms of housing an exhibition inside an stage box, this is going to be a huge undertaking as we are unable to drill or nail objects to the wall. All hangings will have to be easy to remove from non-permanant hangings. This presents an interesting opportunity to really explore the space and be creative in terms of curation.
The space itself is a blank, metal box, made human only by a touch sensitive light. What can this mean in terms of curation?
Uniformity:
An aspect of the facility I find very interesting is its uniformity.
When waling down the corridor the exactness of the decor that makes the facility seem like a labyrinth has the opportunity to be a great talking point with our exhibition crit. even more so, what can it mean in terms of our exhibition them and the sea of ‘enclosure’. Shall audiences be guided to our exhibition or should they we allowed to explore the facility and happen upon the exhibit. Shall we lock away our work with the storage box, or should it be left open for anyone to see? These are just some of the questions I am grappling with in terms of curating the exhibition.
