Thinking about the exhibition, following the group meetings (09.05.16) within our exhibition spaces, I have my attentions turned towards how I will display my casting. As well as my initial ideas towards wall mounting using my clear acrylic box, I really think a semi-understated curation idea is a good way to go, maximising the eerie-ness of what is contained inside the boxes.

With this in mind, I want to go for a conventional delivery box set-up, complete with labelling. The images below is a example box that shows the se up i may go for in term son the exhibition. A un-foldable box, I have bought my own ‘Fragile Tape’ to go on the outer side of the box, as well as ideas towards generating my own ‘Labelling’ and ‘QR Code’ that could be incorporated into the piece; possibly linking to my research catalogue, or being something revelatory about my work that cannot be shown within the show.

Definition:

A machine-readable code consisting of an array of black and white squares, typically used for storing URLs or other information for reading by the camera on a smartphone.

Box Lid – On the top side there will be masking tap, showing the box to have been forcibly opened, something contained inside, I will also have the fragile tap wrapping the outside layer as well as a barcode that can be used with a app.

Underside – usually containing a  ‘return to address’ that will increase the authenticity of my display

Inside – Use of ‘void fill’ bubble wrap, polystyrene or some the of padding that can be used to maintain the shape of the mask, as well as increase the sense of fullness within the container.

I will illuminate the box myself using small LED lights, which will enable the finer details of the cast to be seen in a darkened room (CG01)

In terms of pulling this all together I will make the necessary notices that will allow audiences to make full use of my display. I will also buy a suitable size cardboard box to accommodate my box, as well as the necessary lighting and experiment with lighting conditions and QR Code generation
