As a follow on from the Uncreative Practise Workshop I feel that I have to make a lot more of the the photographic side of my practise. As it is such a large part of my process and the way I translate and re-translate my work into drawings, I plan to create an A0 Matte Print of the original image.
There is a level of immediacy and a sharpness/cripsness to the original photographs that would work well as a large format photograph
I have a session booked in the Digital Print Studio on Tuesday 24th and from this session I plan to print on a large scale the original print, that will form a secondary to the drawing, as both a reference and a follow on from the drawing itself. These I think will work well as a Selfie Series that will eb a exploration of self removed form the sub-stand series that dominate internet profile. It will be of people I experience int he every day, and aims to be exploratory of the inner person of the sitter. These may be both drawings and large scale photographs, maybe even photographs as I really delve into the notions of the self.
Final Outcome: Friday 27th Nov:
The prints came out so much better then expected. Clear, there remain an indication of why I though the original photo was powerful and i am very please with this new faze in my work. I think that this is definitely the beginning of a photographic strand of my practise and really spurs me on to continue to use my new found momentum to continue the trend in my practise.
I am planning to, in the weeks before Christmas, take 2 more sets of images and carry on my investigation in what I am now confidently calling The Selfie Series
